One year ago, could you possibly imagine a factory MotoGP squad, desperate to improve the overall performance of its bike, switching to Bridgestones rather than Michelins? Probably not. Well, according to various reports, Kawasaki’s MotoGP team should be switching from Dunlop to Bridgestone for 2004.

With just two years in MotoGP under its belt, Bridgestone has done a remarkable job. Makoto Tamada showed the potential of the Bridgestones this season, and Kawasaki is undoubtedly betting on the Bridgestone tires being at least equivalent to the long-dominant Michelin tires next year.
