Did you ever think that outdated motorcycle technology becomes “charming” or full of “character” at the same rate it becomes outdated? Some people like old beat-up bicycles as much as modern motorcycles, or more. There is a spectrum with new technology on one end and old, outdated, charming and characterful technology on the other. Slide the scale from the high-tech end to the outdated end and “character” takes up the slack. Take a look at the Japanese Zen concepts of Wabi and Sabi.
This is a simple, and undoubtedly flawed, thought on a Saturday evening. Thought I’d share it, anyway.
