If you have observed AMA superbike racing much at all in the past few years, you wouldn’t expect Mat Mladin and Kurtis Roberts to agree on much of anything. Apparently, however, they agree that superbike racing at Daytona is unsafe.
According to an interview published by Cycle News on its web site earlier this week, Roberts agrees with Mladin that superbike racing is unsafe at Daytona, and probably shouldn’t occur there. Take a look at the full Cycle News interview, and note that Mr. Roberts is speaking without the pressures associated with racing in the AMA Superbike series (he is now a MotoGP rider on his father’s team) or being an employee of American Honda (his status the past few years — albeit, racing under the Erion Honda team).
