The Daytona debut of the new 1000cc Superstock class resulted in an exciting and tight race between a number of Yamaha R1s and Kawasaki ZX-10Rs. R1-mounted Aaron Gobert took the victory, drafting past a group of five other riders to the finish line. Finishing second was Jamie Hacking (Yamaha R1) with Tommy Hayden (Kawasaki ZX-10R) third.
Daytona also saw the debut of the new Formula Xtreme 600cc class, with a battle among Honda CBR600RR-mounted riders all the way to the finish. Honda teammates Miguel DuHamel and Ben Bostrom finished first and second, respectively, with Jake Zemke (also aboard a Honda) finishing third.
