It has been widely reported that Erion Honda’s Anthony Gobert was arrested for drunk driving late last week in Huntington Beach, California. Since that time, the silence has been deafening . . . from Gobert’s employer, Erion Honda.
Gobert did complete one race for Erion Honda this year, at the Fontana California Speedway facility in the 1000cc Superstock class aboard his lightly modified Honda CBR1000RR. His results were pretty dismal, however, reflecting a lack of testing time (Gobert had just entered the country after clearing up some visa problems that prevented him from competing at Daytona).
Will Erion Honda (highly influenced by American Honda when it comes to rider selection and discipline) can Anthony Gobert? It remains to be seen, but it wouldn’t come as a huge suprise to observers of Gobert’s roller-coaster career.
