Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi was quickest in Day 1 qualifying for the South African GP. Qualifying continues tomorrow, and the final grid will be determined at that time.
A very good mix of bikes finished in the top 10 on the time sheets today, including Yamahas (3 of them), Hondas (5 of them) a Ducati and a Suzuki. This is already shaping up to be a very competitive MotoGP series, at least, from the standpoint of the number of manufacturers gridding competitive machines. Kawasaki is not far off the pace, either.
