Many people have forgotten that Mike Metzger raced motocross for more than a decade before he became famous as the “Godfather” of freestyle (while winning several X-Games medals). Metzger is busy reminding everyone of this fact while tied for the points lead in the current Western Four-Stroke National Motocross championship after three rounds. Round four is this weekend in Victorville, where Metzger will be joined by national pro Ryan Hughes and young Mike Alessi, among many others.
Oh yeah, Metzger’s versatility on a motorcycle does not stop at freestyle MX and motocross. He is very good at Supermoto (one of the best in the United States) and a decent road racer, as well.
