James Stewart (Kawasaki) clinched his second AMA 125cc Outdoor National championship today with two moto wins at Binghamton, New York. His second moto win tied Ricky Carmichael’s record for 125cc overall MX wins.
Broc Hepler (Suzuki) went 2-3 on the day for 2nd overall, with teammate and fellow rookie Davi Millsaps (Suzuki) riding to 4-2 finishes for 3rd overall in the 125cc class.
Both 250cc motos again went to Honda’s Ricky Carmichael, with a consistent Chad Reed (Yamaha) finishing in the runner-up position in both motos. Kevin Windham (Honda) finished 3rd in moto one, while the last podium spot in moto two went to Ernesto Fonseca (Honda). Consistency is king in overall scoring, however, which Sebastien Tortelli (Suzuki) proved by taking 3rd overall with 4-4 finishes.
