Ricky Carmichael (Honda) completed his second perfect season today at the Glen Helen Motocross Park in Southern California. Carmichael, who clinched this year’s 250 AMA Outdoor Motocross championship last week, won both motos, while Yamaha’s Chad Reed and Suzuki’s Sebastien Tortelli finished second and third in each moto, respectively.
James Stewart (Kawasaki) won both 125 class motos in his first race aboard a 250cc four-stroke. Stewart clinched his title with two races remaining in the series. Finishing second on the day was Chris Gosselaar (Honda, with scores of 4/3), and third overall was Nate Ramsey (Honda, with scores of 11/4).
The final standings in the AMA 250 Outdoor National Motocross championship put Carmichael in first, Reed in second and Kevin Windham (Honda) in third. In the 125 class, Stewart takes the championship, with Broc Hepler (Suzuki) second and Mike Brown (Yamaha) third.
