Suzuki dealers will offer something unique in 2005 – a street-legal supermoto bike that you can buy and ride home! Based on the existing DR-Z400S Dual Sport model, and using the same motor, the SM has some features that should make it a much more exciting street ride than it’s sister model.
For starters, the SM replaces the S model’s conventional forks with beefy upside-down units from the RM motocross line. The rear shock features adjustments for rebound damping as well as high- and low-speed compression damping.
The DR-Z400SM rolls on black-painted 17″ aluminum wheels, and the front is stopped by an oversized disc setup in true supermoto style. The rear brake rotor is also larger than that of the S model.
At an MSRP of $6,099, the DR-Z400SM should be an extremely fun bike for around-town riding and playing on ultra-tight roads. Check back with MD to see a ride review of this bike soon.
