Clocking 1.43 flat during testing at Jerez, Jeremy McWilliams had nothing but praise for the Proton Team KR hybrid machine he tested, consisting of a Team KR chassis, KTM V-4 engine and Michelin tires.
Although still a bit off the pace run by Honda and Ducati at Jerez this week, the hybrid machine was quite impressive for a first outing, and clearly better in most respects than the V-5 engined, Dunlop-shod machine raced by the team last year.
Will this test provide enough encouragement for Proton Team KR to go forward and contest the 2005 MotoGP series? Will Michelin provide tire support to this team in 2005, after losing Ducati to Bridgestone? Will KTM find its name on the team, while providing engines? Stay tuned.
