After a very disappointing 2005 season, and the termination of its relationship with Troy Bayliss, the Ducati MotoPG team appears back on track for 2005. The hiring of Carlos Checa as a teammate to Loris Capirossi, and the switch to Bridgestone tires seems to be working out well.
In testing a Philip Island this week, Checa has been very quick, while Capirossi went extremely fast at Sepang a few weeks ago. Already, the 2005 version of the Desmosedici appears to be much more competitive with Honda and Yamaha. The Ducati brand is an emotional favorite at many tracks in Europe, and it would be good to see the Desmosedici running near the front again this year.
