Suzuki MotoGP riders Kenny Roberts and John Hopkins appear thrilled with the 2005 version of the Suzuki weapon. However, Suzuki’s competition, including most notably Honda and Ducati, is also improving their machinery and setting a faster pace this year. Early tests indicate Suzuki may have closed the gap on the front-running teams a bit, but is still slightly off the pace.
In fairness, the 2005 Suzuki machine features many changes, and the team appears hopeful that it can be competing for podiums and even victories after the season starts. We will see.
