Kawasaki’s James Stewart finally stood atop the 250cc podium tonight, defeating all contenders at the AMA Supercross event in Dallas, Texas. Ricky Carmichael crossed the line a little more than 5 seconds later in second (after crashing twice in his heat and having to ride a semi to transfer to the main), while defending champion Chad Reed (Yamaha) took third after crashing out of second place following minor contact with a lapped rider on the last lap of the race.
In the 125cc class, it was another Kawasaki rider on top – Pro Circuit’s Grant Langston. Second went to Suzuki’s Davi Millsaps, with Langston’s teammate Matt Walker (Kawasaki) a distant third.
Carmichael increased his commanding lead in the 250cc points chase tonight, now holding a 31-point advantage over Chad Reed. In the 125cc East Coast championship, Grant Langston now holds a 7-point lead over KTM’s Josh Hansen.
