Just one year after winning the MX2 title for KTM, a New Zealand youngster named Ben Townley (20 years old) lies third in the MX1 championship and has already won three rounds this year (including the last two in a row). Although multi-time World champ Stefan Everts comfortably leads the MX1 championship series, Townley is coming on strong and proving to be his greatest rival.
Will Townley head to the States, eventually? We don’t know, but we have no doubt that he could race for the podium in the AMA 250 National motocross series. This kid is fast and consistent.
