Round 6 of the AMA Outdoor Motocross series visited the Unadilla track in New York today. In the 250 class, Ricky Carmichael (Suzuki) took the overall win (2/1) ahead of Kevin Windham (Honda; 1/2) and Chad Reed (Yamaha; 3/3). In the first moto, Carmichael went down twice . . . the second time when James Stewart (Kawasaki) landed on his back following a jump. Carmichael, although bruised, came back to win the second moto. Stewart did not race the second moto, and there has been no word on his condition. He was assisted from the track by the mobile medical unit.
In the 125 class, Suzuki’s Broc Hepler broke out of his slump to win both motos and the overall victory ahead of teammate Davi Millsaps (Suzuki; 2/4) and Ivan Tedesco (Kawasaki; 5/2).
Ricky Carmichael and Mike Brown (Honda) continue to lead the championship series in their respective classes. For additional details, results and points, visit the official AMA Motocross site here.
