Despite qualifying on the second row, Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) won the Brno MotoGP race today in a close fought battle with arch rival Sete Gibernau (Honda). Gibernau had mechanical issues on the final lap, and was unable to finish. Finishing second was Loris Capirossi (Ducati), with Max Biaggi (Honda) third.
