You may recall that we discussed the decision facing young John Hopkins regarding his MotoGP future on August 5, 2005. Today, Suzuki announced that 22-year-old Hopkins has signed a two year deal to remain with the Suzuki MotoGP team through the 2007 season (2007 is the first year of the 800cc displacement limit for MotoGP engines). Financial details were not disclosed, but Suzuki discussed having to compete with other prospective employers of Hopkins’ considerable talent. It is likely Hopkins is being compensated very well to stay on blue and white for two more years.
