With Ricky Carmichael (Suzuki) winning the MX1 class qualifier today, Kevin Windham (Honda) taking second in the MX3 qualifier, and Ivan Tedesco (Kawasaki) finishing fourth in the MX2 qualifier, Team USA will have first gate pick in all three motos tomorrow for the Motocross des Nations final. Tying the USA on points today (but losing a tie breaker — they will have second gate pick) was the French team consisting of Mickael Pichon (second in MX1), David Vuillemin (fourth in MX3) and Sebastien Tortelli (first in MX2). The Belgium team finished very close on points, as well. Tomorrow’s results could be very tight, but the US team would still have to be considered the favorite at this point. Tedesco obtained his fourth place finish despite a crash.
