Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi won his tenth MotoGP race of the season in Qatar earlier today. Rossi was quite pleased with the win as he had crashed out of last year’s Qatar MotoGP event. Rossi, of course, has already clinched the MotoGP title this year with several races remaining (he has nearly twice the points of the second place rider).
Finishing second today was Honda-mounted Marco Melandri, while Nicky Hayden (Honda) finished third. Sete Gibernau (Honda) led much of the race before over cooking a corner and ending up in the gravel trap. Gibernau was able to recover for a fifth place finish.
