When Kawasaki announced its 2006 ZX-14, it was clear that the bike was designed to make no doubt which production machine is the most powerful and fastest on the planet . . . move aside Suzuki Hayabusa. Suzuki, however is expected to announce a new Hayabusa shortly, as a 2007 model (perhaps, sometime next Spring as an early release 2007 model).
Altough development of the new Hayabusa must be substantially complete at this point, one has to wonder whether the ZX-14 has made Suzuki engineers scramble to increase performance of the new Hayabusa. Perhaps, they did not need to. We should find out sometime next spring or summer. On thing is sure, the horespower and top speed wars are definitely back. Kawasaki indicated at the recent Tokyo motor show that the ZX-14 is capable of 200 miles per hour . . . stock!
