Triumph is expected to replace the somewhat aging Daytona 955i with a larger-displacement triple. Just as Triumph did in the “600 class” by developing a larger-displacement triple (the Daytona 675), expect Triumph to exceed the displacement of the 1000cc four-cylinder superbikes of its competitors when a new Daytona is announced in the next model year or two. The larger displacement allows Triumph to offer a broader spread of torque than its higher-revving competitors.
