They say everyone grows up . . . eventually. After a year he (and his fans) would like to forget, James Stewart may have finally found the maturity he needs to win a championship in the big-bore class.
Stewart’s three straight Supercross wins (the most recent at Anaheim last weekend) are hard to argue with. He has ridden smart and not on the ragged edge. It was Carmichael that crashed at Anaheim I, not Stewart, and that fact alone may signal the end of an era in Supercross, and the beginning of a new one.
Of course, there are plenty of races left this year before the championship is awarded, but Stewart has proven to us that he has made great strides torward fulfilling his huge potential.
