If you read our recent review of BMW’s new paralell-twin 800s, the F800S and F800ST, you know that we loved the combination of paralell-twin torque and precise handling that these two bikes offer.
We’ve been hearing persistent rumors that BMW plans to add two more models to the F800 range in 2007 – a naked version called the F800R, and an enduro model tagged the F800GS.
The F800R should be similar in specification to the current F800S ‘sport’ model, but with revised styling to capture the attention of the trendy naked-bike segment.
The GS, on the other hand, will have similar accoutrements to BMW’s other GS enduro models, which means addtional suspension travel and damping tuned for a combination of on- and off-road adventure. The GS model may possibly have revised styling and other enduro-oriented features, such as a larger gas tank and a different lighting system. BMW also typically offers spoked wheels with more off-road oriented tires as an option on it’s GS models.
Keep your eye on Motorcycle Daily for more info, as well as pictures, of these new models as soon as we receive them, if and when BMW officially announces them.
