The highly anticipated American debut of former MX2 World champ Ben Townley will occur July 2 at Red Bud in Michigan, according to a report from Motocross Action. Townley badly injured his knee in January of this year while preparing to race supercross here in the United States for the Pro Circuit Kawasaki Team. After surgery and rehabilitation, Townley is back practicing on his bike. Americans got a glimpse of Townley’s speed when he beat Kevin Windham at the Motocross des Nations last year.
