The AMA Motocross Series visited Millville, Minnesota today for Round 9. In the premier class, Ricky Carmichael (Suzuki) took the overall win with 1-1 moto finishes, with David Vuillemin (Yamaha) taking second overall by virtue of his 7-2 moto finishes. Third place overall went to Honda’s Kevin Windham, who finished 9-3 on the day. Carmichael’s win extended his massive lead in the championship points race.
In the highly competitive Lites class, it was Suzuki’s Broc Hepler who walked away with the overall win, finishing 3rd in Moto 1 and crossing the line first in Moto 2. Honda’s Andrew Short took second overall with a 1-4 record, and KTM’s Mike Alessi rounded out the top three with 4-2 finishes. Alessi continues to lead the championship points race, his advantage now a slim 6 points over second-ranked Ryan Villopoto (Kawasaki).
