KTM’s long-rumored replacement for their popular 640 was shown to the public for the first time today at the Intermot motorcycle show in Cologne, Germany. The fuel-injected ~690cc single is claimed to produce 63hp, making it one of the most powerful singles ever produced.
Power is transferred via an all-new, six-speed transmission, and considering that the supermoto-style chassis is carrying only a (claimed dry weight) 335lbs, the 690SM should be quite quick, especially for its class.
That’s all the information we have at this time, but keep your eye on MD for more complete specifications as we receive them. In the meantime, enjoy these KTM studio photos of the aggressive-looking new 690SM.
