When the United States won the FIM Junior World Trophy last week at the ISDE in New Zealand, it proved the strength and depth of the young off-road stars here in the States. Although Europe has long been home to the world’s greatest Enduro riders, there are now plenty of strong off-road specialists here in the United States.
Indeed, the rider who gave fits to the U.S. home boys the last few years, Juha Salminen, proved to be the fastest in the world by taking the top spot overall at the New Zealand ISDE. The U.S. riders have been learning from Salminen (although eating his dust more often than not), and will now have World champion David Knight to contend with as Salminen returns to racing in Europe next year.
