Round 7 of the AMA Supercross series visited San Diego, CA this evening. Chad Reed (Yamaha) took the victory after arch rival James Stewart (Kawasaki) crashed roughly mid-way through the main event. Stewart remounted to finish fifth. Finishing second this evening was Kawasaki’s Tim Ferry, with Kevin Windham (Honda) finishing third. Stewart’s championship points lead over Reed was narrowed to just 12 points.
In the Western Region Supercross Lites main event, it was again Ryan Villopoto (Kawasaki) with the victory, while Jason Lawrence (Yamaha) finished second, and Chris Gosselaar (Kawasaki) finished third. Villopoto clinches the Western Region Supercross Lites championship title with one round remaining.
