Young Casey Stoner (Ducati) won his first MotoGP today in Qatar by defeating the legendary Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) straight up in a battle to the flag. Finishing third behind Stoner and Rossi was Honda’s Dani Pedrosa. Defending champ Nicky Hayden (Honda) finished all the way down in eighth place.
