Young Casey Stoner (Ducati) stretched his points lead in the MotoGP series today by taking the win in China. Stoner led most of the race, but fought closely with Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) before Rossi ran wide in a corner with a few laps left in the race giving Stoner some breathing room. Rossi finished second ahead of third place John Hopkins (Suzuki). Hopkins was the only other rider able to match the pace of Stoner and Rossi while taking his first MotoGP podium.
