For the first time in many years, Kawasaki’s Tim Ferry won an overall victory in an AMA motocross event by finishing with 2/2 moto scores at Washougal today. Finishing second overall was Yamaha’s Grant Langston (4/1), while Honda’s Andrew Short finished third overall (3/4).
Kawasaki’s James Stewart won the first moto, but was unable to finish Moto 2 after a crash resulted in an injury to his knee. Stewart still leads the series points, but Ferry is closing in.
In the Lites division, Kawasaki’s Ben Townley took the overall victory with 2/1 moto finishes, while teammate Ryan Villopoto finished second (1/3) and Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey finished third (3/2). Townley takes the lead in the Lites championship series points.
