Ricky Carmichael (Suzuki) dominated the Millville Motocross event today, winning both motos and, in the process, taking his 150th career victory. In the absence of James Stewart (Kawasaki), Yamaha’s Grant Langston stepped up to take second place in both motos, and second overall. Mike Alessi (KTM) finished third overall (4/3).
In the Lites division, Kawasaki teammates Ryan Villopoto and Ben Townley once again split moto wins, with Villopoto taking the overall by winning the second moto (2/1), while Townley took the first moto (1/2) for second overall. Finishing third on the day was another Kawasaki ridden by Bret Metcalfe (3/3).
The race for the championship in the Motocross class becomes very interesting now with Tim Ferry and Andrew Short tied (311 points each). Langston is 11 points back in third. In the Lites division, the title chase remains incredibly close between teammates Towley and Villopoto, with Townley enjoying a slim, 2 point lead.
