Grant Langston (Yamaha) captured the AMA Motocross National championship with an overall victory today at Glen Helen Raceway in Southern California. Langston won the first moto, and finished third in the second moto. Finishing second overall on the day was KTM’s Mike Alessi (2/2), while Kevin Windham (Honda) was third overall (5/1).
In the Lites division, Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto captured his second consecutive Outdoor title while finishing second overall (1/2) to teammate Ben Townley (2/1). Third overall on the day in the Lites division was Kawasaki’s Bret Metcalfe (3/3).
