The showdown between Yoshimura Suzuki teammates Mat Mladin and Ben Spies happened today at Langua Seca Raceway, with Spies pulling away from Mladin in the second half of the race to take a convincing win. In the process, Spies captured his second consecutive AMA Superbike championship title, with Mladin finishing second in the race and in the championship. Finishing third today was Aaron Yates (Suzuki).
