Response to air-cooled retro bikes announced as exhibition models at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show by Yamaha (see our report here) and Honda (here) seems to be quite positive (including email sent to this publication and discussions seen elsewhere on the Net).
Apparently, the Japanese appreciate the success of retro models introduced by competitors such as Triumph and, more recently, Ducati.
The demographic buying these retro machines is strong — older and with more disposable income. Expect the Japanese to dip into their heritage with production retros in the near future.
