Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi won today at Mugello — his seventh win here — and took a sizeable points lead in the championship series as contender and teammate Jorge Lorenzo crashed out of the race (uninjured). Finishing second and third, respectively, were defending champ Casey Stoner (Ducati) and Dani Pedrosa (Honda).
