The AMA Toyota Motocross Championship visited the Red Bud facility in Michigan earlier today, and the results were somewhat predictable in both classes. James Stewart (Kawasaki) continued to dominate the Motocross class with a perfect 1/1 day, finishing ahead of Honda’s Andrew Short (3/3) with Michael Byrne (Suzuki) rounding out the podium (4/4). Suzuki’s Mike Alessi finished second in Moto 1, but crashed out of Moto 2.
In the Motocross Lites division, Ryan Villopoto (Kawasaki) had another perfect outing (1/1) to take the overall victory ahead of Trey Canard (Honda; 2/2) and Martin Davalos (KTM; 6/3).
Stewart and Villopoto each have a huge lead in their respective championship series. For additional details, results and points, visit the official AMA motocross site here.
