Kawasaki’s James Stewart won both motos at the Washougal, Washington round of the AMA Toyota Motocross series, while Honda’s Andrew Short finished second in both motos and Michael Byrne (Suzuki) finished third in both motos. Stewart fell just short of clinching the championship, something he should do at the next round in two weeks.
In the Motocross Lites division, Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey took the overall win with 2/1 moto finishes, while Ryan Villopoto (Kawasaki) tied Dungey on points for the day but finished second overall (1/2) ahead of Josh Grant (Honda; 3/4).
Villopoto has been nearly as dominant as Stewart, and also has a large points lead in his championship series. For additional details, results and points, visit the official AMA Motocross site here.
