It looks like Valentino Rossi may cruise to the 2008 MotoGP championship. I’m not sure he could have done so on Michelin tires, and his dramatic switch to Bridgestones (dramatic and controversial) just prior to this year was clearly a smart move, after all.
Michelin riders have been unable to compete at the front for two races now, and testing earlier today at Brno did not see Michelin riders any happier with new tire compounds.
Michelin started the year strong, but Bridgestone now appears to be stretching its lead over the French company, and it will be interesting to see what some teams (including Repsol Honda) do for 2009 given Michelin’s woes.
