With the European press speculating that Aprilia will announce the signing of Max Biaggi this weekend to race the new V-4 Superbike next year in WSB, the entry of Aprilia and BMW into the 2009 contest comes to mind. These are two companies that want more than competition. Of course, they want to win and are willing to pay top riders to achieve their goals (Biaggi reportedly will have a salary of more than one million Euro next year).
With some belt tightening at other factories, Aprilia and BMW present important opportunities to factory level riders in search of employment. Ruben Xaus has officially announced his relationship with BMW next year.
