American fans have the opportunity to see the two fastest Supercross riders on the planet race their new bikes for the first time on American soil tonight and tomorrow night in Las Vegas, Nevada. As we have reported previously, Stewart steps off his Kawasaki to race a Yamaha, while Reed leaves Yamaha for Suzuki. Stewart has never raced his Yamaha before, while Reed has raced his Suzuki once in Australia (where he won).
The Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open is a two-night affair beginning this evening in Las Vegas. In timed qualifying, Stewart was quickest on his Yamaha, while Reed placed second on his Suzuki. The combined results of a main event this evening and tomorrow evening will determine the overall winner. Look for results here on MD later this weekend.
