Amid the somewhat depressing remarks by Honda president Takeo Fukui yesterday, was a somewhat upbeat comment about the motorcycle industry in general, and a specific reference to an electric motorcycle Honda intends to introduce within the next couple of years. Here is the quote from Honda’s summary of Mr. Fukui’s speech:
Honda is currently developing a battery-powered electric motorcycle which emits no CO2 during operation, because the characteristics of a battery can be better utilized in the area of motorcycles, which are often used for short distance travel. Honda is aiming to introduce this electric motorcycle to the market about two years from now.
Would this bike be available in the U.S. market? That is impossible to say at this point.
