The opening round of a new, and somewhat misunderstood, roadrace series resulted in a very familiar face at the top of the podium. Mat Mladin (Suzuki) won the Daytona American Superbike opener yesterday afternoon (that’s right, it was held on a Thursday afternoon) before a very small live audience at Daytona Beach, Florida. Finishing a very close second to Mladin was Neil Hodgson (Honda) with Tommy Hayden (Suzuki) third.
