After a one-day delay, Qatar hosted the opening round of the 2009 MotoGP championship earlier today (actually 9:00 p.m. Qatar time). The winner was Casey Stoner (Ducati) with a comfortable gap over second-place Valentino Rossi (Yamaha). Rossi’s teammate Jorge Lorenzo finished third.
