The WSB championship visited Assen this weekend, and young American Ben Spies (Yamaha) again took pole position for the two races. Spies won the first race over second place Noriyuki Haga (Ducati) and third place Leon Haslam (Honda). It was a close race to the finish with Spies passing Haga just prior to the line.
In race 2, Spies crashed out of the lead early, and Haga went on to an uncontested win. Finishing second was Haslam, with third place going to Jakub Smrz (Ducati).
