Ben Spies has been racking up pole positions on unfamiliar tracks all year, but now he is coming home to a track he and his American crew chief Tom Houseworth are very familiar with. Spies has raced at Miller Motorsports Park, and tested there, on numerous occasions as an AMA Superbike rider, while Houseworth has plenty of experience setting up bikes to get around the Miller track quickly.
It will be interesting to see if Spies has a leg up on the competition this weekend (although, you can’t do better than pole position, can you?). Spies would love to win here in the States, of course, as would his primary sponsor, Yamaha.
