Mixed weather conditions lead to several crashes earlier today at Donington Park in England during the MotoGP event. Points leader Valentino Rossi crashed while leading the race beyond the half-way mark. Other crashers included Rossi’s Yamaha teammate Jorge Lorenzo. Neither rider was injured, but Lorenzo did not finish.
Earning his first MotoGP victory today was Andrea Dovizioso (Honda). Second and third place went to Colin Edwards (Yamaha) and Randy DePuniet (Honda).
