Indianapolis MotoGP Results

Crashes by top riders (more about that later) marked the Indianapolis round of the MotoGP series held earlier today. Coming through unscathed, and with the victory, was Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo. Finishing second and third, respectively, were Alex De Angelis (Honda) and Nicky Hayden (Ducati). Hayden recorded his best result of the year at his home track. Both Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) and Dani Pedrosa (Honda) crashed during the race. Rossi retired, but Pedrosa picked up his bike and eventually finished in tenth place.

Rossi continues to lead the championship series, but his points lead is cut to 25 following Lorenzo’s victory today. For additional details, results and points, visit the official MotoGP site here.

  • Just wanted to get this off my heart…

If FOX wanted to get their fans to start liking MotoGP, they sure did a lousy job.
How do you expect people to get into an event when the program starts immediately at the start of the race?

Can you imagine any of the big networks showing a football or basketball…or hockey game without at least 30 minutes of pumping you up for the start?
Imagine for a second that Monday night football would start 10 seconds before kick off…no pre-game, no coin toss…just at the moment of kickoff…and would end 5 seconds after the clock ran down to zero. Sad…real sad.

If you are going to try something, why not do it right. It seems that someone asked the big bosses, and they weren’t really into it, so they gave the producer just enough rope to hang himself…

I couldn’t believe how poor the coverage was….OK, it wasn’t their fault if Pedrosa fell during the long commercials…but how many times did they show people in the stands?…mechanics watching their screens…even Greg White talking about an inflatable suit…WE WANT TO SEE RACING!!! And maybe the Champagne being spilled….and the after race interviews?

Please big networks….stop doing the minimum…Let SpeedTV do its job, or do it right…but that half job is just really frustrating for the fans. Thanks, Martin
