Round 4 of the AMA Supercross series was held in San Francisco last evening and Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto came away with his first win of the year. Finishing second and third in the Supercross class were Josh Hill (Yamaha) and Davi Millsaps (Honda). Points leader Ryan Dungey (Suzuki) crashed while leading the main event, but remounted to finish fourth. Dungey still has the series points lead. Defending champ James Stewart (Yamaha) did not participate due to a wrist injury (see MD’s related article).
Young Trey Canard (Honda) broke the win streak of Jake Weimer (Kawasaki) by taking the checkered flag in the Western Region Lites main event. Weimer finished second with Broc Tickle (Yamaha) finishing third. Weimer still has a healthy series points lead.
